Osteoarthritis (OA) is the leading chronic disease in Canada surpassing heart disease and diabetes. Currently 1 in 5 Canadians are living with OA and 1 in 3 diagnosed before the age of 45. With recent advances in total hip and knee replacement surgeries, younger people are having this procedure. There is less time spent in rehabilitation settings which means you will be seeing more of these clients in the future. The first step is learning how to help your clients manage their osteoarthritis. With the right education and exercise, your clients can delay or even prevent surgery.
